Shanti Teertha is a sacred ghat and cremation site on the banks of the Bagmati River. The name literally means “Bank (Teertha) of Peace (Shanti)”, reflecting the site’s purpose as a peaceful resting place for the departed souls and a place of spiritual solace for the living.
