One of the longest chariot festivals in the world, celebrating Rato Machhindranath — the god of rain and harvest — in Lalitpur.

Nag Panchami — नाग पञ्चमी

Worship of serpent deities. Sacred images of Nag are displayed and worshipped at homes and temples throughout the Pashupati area.

Janai Purnima — जनै पूर्णिमा

Sacred thread change ceremony for Hindu men. Pilgrims gather at the Bagmati ghats for ritual bathing and the tying of protective threads.

Main Sanctum: Hindus only
Ghats: Open to all

Guidance, rituals, and assistance are available to devotees. Please follow temple rules and respect the sacred environment at all times.

Photography is not allowed inside the main sanctum. External areas and ghats may be photographed respectfully.
